Brief Report “on the night”
Another popular concert with over 50 people present. All 5 artists were very high quality, and the audience applauded loudly after each piece. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Lewis Barton started the evening with a couple of excellent trumpet pieces, on 2 different sizes of trumpet. Luca Kelly began with his own lovely slightly jazzy arrangement of Stella by Starlight. Josephine McEvey then sang four very different songs in her beautiful strong soprano voice, of which Shenandoah was probably the most popular. Cameron Liu astonished us, especially with his very lively rendition of a fast Paganini piece. Jack Callaghan brought the first half to a close with an equally lively rendition of a Tarantelle.
Amazingly the second half was even better!
